Well.

Jason and I took a couple of our mutual friends to the zoo yesterday! It was frigid and freezing and one of the parts we really wanted to go through was actually shut down due to ice, every gift shop except one was closed for inventory and that last one was getting ready to, most of the eat-y places were closed down... It was really starting to be kind of a drag of a trip, until...

A leopard played hide and go seek with my husband.

No, seriously.

We were up where they have the cages (really, just habitats with mesh so that the cats can't jump out), looking around. Jason went over one of those "do not cross due to ice" signs out onto the deck you can go onto, while the other two and I stayed behind. From where we were, we could see directly into a small leopard's cage, at which point we noticed that the leopard was stalking up a small hill and began to stalk back and forth, tail twitching, watching Jason's back.

So we let him know and he turned around and walked over, but couldn't quite see the leopard, which was stalking even more, curling down as if to pounce. So Jason finally caught sight of it, ducked down, and then jumped up again so he was suddenly visible, and the leopard jumped back slightly, then curled back down again.

Finally the leopard took a leap at the mesh, and it was just adorable. All the big cats were actually a whole lot more active than they normally are in the summer, so that was really nice.

We watched tiger cubs play for a long tim. They had like four tiger cubs in the cage that were just stalking each other and it was cute!

The peacock, as always, was annoying.

Really, we had a good day.
